After taking the Moto X Pure Edition to the unlocked market last year, Motorola has decided to open up the fourth-generation Moto G to not just the United States’ GSM networks, but to its CDMA ones, too.

The Moto G⁴ and Moto G⁴ Plus are both up for pre-orders right now at the Motorola site. Both phones can be customized in Moto Maker and financed through Motorola.

As a refresher, the Moto G⁴ has a 5.5-inch, full HD screen in front of a Snapdragon 617 with 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel main camera. This one’s starting at $199.99 for 16GB of storage.

$249.99 for the Moto G⁴ Plus nets you a 16-megapixel camera and a fingerprint reader. Another $50 above that unlocks 4GB of RAM.

Don’t forget the two years of complimentary original-quality Google Photos backups you’re getting with either phone. Yes, the offer made for Moto Z buyers also applies here.

July 12 is the official kick-off date with Amazon, Best Buy, BrandsMart, B&H, Car Toys, Fry’s MicroCenter, Sam’s Club and Walmart online taking part. Republic Wireless will have both phones starting July 28.

The omnibus compatibility of these phones also seems to make them Project Fi-friendly, something we’ll look forward to testing.
