How to install Ubuntu as OS and Windows application at the same time?

I wonder how to install Ubuntu as an Operative System and a Windows application at the same time, so that I can choose whether run it inside or outside Windows interface.
Do you recommend the built-in option of install as a Windows application or recommend to install it as a virtual machine?

Well, if you want Ubuntu to be the main (host) machine, you can use a program called Wine to run Windows applications. If you want Windows to be the host, you can run a virtual machine. I would recommend virtual machines because if you don’t know Linux that well and you blow it up, it’s just a virtual machine. If you just want to use a few Windows applications, I would just use the Wine option.
