The magnetic Apple Watch charging dock

A magnetic charging dock for the Apple Watch has finally arrived – just in time for Black Friday.

The tech giant announced that its Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock goes on sale online today (November 18), with in-store availability beginning on Friday (November 20).

Apple Watch’s dock allows users of the 38mm and 42mm models to charge their device either flat or on its side as part of a Nightstand mode.

Apple described Nightstand mode as follows: “When an alarm sounds, you press the side button to turn it off, or the Digital Crown to snooze.

“Nightstand mode works with both the Apple Watch charger and the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock.”

Those who purchase the dock will seemingly need to use the USB adapter that came with their Apple Watch to plug into a wall outlet – as a USB is not included with the dock.

The product launch continues the holiday promotional roll-out for Apple Watch, which began shipping this past spring after a heavily-hyped development period.

Apple’s decision to put the dock on sale followed one day after promotional pictures of the product leaked online.
