After what feels like about 4 years of leaks, that’s it, the Samsung Galaxy S7and spin-off Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge have been officially unveiled. Finally!

Entering the realms of reality during Sammy’s pre-MWC Unpacked event, the new devices are shaping up as an iterative improvement on last year’sSamsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge offerings.

Running improved processors and 4GB of RAM, both handsets have dropped from 16-megapixel to 12-megapixel primary cameras, although the new units have improved low-light capabilities. It’s helped do away with that ugly camera protrusion too.

While the standard S7 features a 5.1-inch QHD display, the innovative Edge panel has been stretched out to cover a new 5.5-inch form. Both devices are now fully waterproof too without the need for unsightly port covers.

Essentially ironing out any issues people have with the S6 family, the Samsung Galaxy S7 has brought back microSD storage expansion to build on its 32GB internals – take that, iPhone owners.

Coming in a trio of colours apiece – silver, black and gold – the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are set to hit retailers in the coming weeks. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
